At most of the recent protests in Berkeley the police have showed up in larger numbers than similar sized protests in San Francisco. They consistently act in a confrontational manner towards protesters, and appear to be using video equipment and undercover agents to track protest movements....

According to all accounts, the victim himself called 911 for help — in fact it was the last call he made. But, his mother said, when the police responded to his call, instead of seeing someone in need of help, "all they could see was a big Black man."
Now a mother wants to know, what went wrong? Why is her son dead? What will be done about it?...

Twenty shots were fired at Idris Stelley, a 23-year-old college student, in an otherwise empty theater at the Sony Metreon in downtown San Francisco as the movie "Swordfish" played on the screen....
