BERKELEY – A study linking early childhood personality to political orientation 20 years later has been generating considerable news media attention. The longitudinal study, conducted by Jack Block, a professor emeritus of psychology at UC Berkeley, and his wife, Jeanne, now deceased, was published online last October in the Journal of Research in Personality. Walnut Creek, California (March 18, 2006) - Nearly three thousand people marched through downtown Walnut Creek today to protest three years of unjust war and occupation. The march was by far the largest anti-war mobilization in the collective memory of this suburban city an hour east of San Francisco. Despite the area’s more conservative reputation, marchers were greeted by a constant chorus of car horns voicing support. War without end? Not in our name....

Students with the Sweat-Free Campaign were threatened and detained by UC police after entering a UC Berkeley Administration building (California Hall) to deliver a letter to Chancellor Birgeneau. International Peacemaker Marshall Rosenberg is receiving a Bridge of Peace Award from the Global Village Foundation in Los Angeles just before he arrives in the Bay Area next week.
Presenting the award to Dr. Rosenberg will be Michael Nagler, founder of the Peace and Conflict Studies Center at UC Berkeley.
Following the award ceremony, Marshall Rosenberg will make a rare visit to the San Francisco Bay Area to present workshops open to the general public, March 28th through April 2nd....
