Iraq Moratorium #9 in San Mateo and Palo Alto
Members of the Raging Grannies Action League do an action for peace every third Friday of the month,
and on many other days of the month as well!
Saturday May 10 found us marking Mother's Day Eve with a performance in San Mateo on stage with MC Shahid Buttar.
Friday May 16 (third Friday) we serenaded patrons at Cafe Sophia in Palo Alto.
Patrons came for the cuisine of Afghanistan and stayed for the entertainment!...

Grannies Against Education Cuts!
Many, if not most, of the Raging Grannies are retired teachers, nurses, and social workers. We support teachers and nurses unions in a big way~!
Wednesday, May 14 found us scurrying around the intersection of El Camino Real and San Antonio Rd. where Mtn. View and Los Altos meet. We were part of a peninsula length demonstration against Education Budget Cuts....

Gov's Proposed Education Cuts draw Demos
San Francisco peninsula teachers, parents, principals, school aides, students and board members joined education advocates statewide in protesting state budget cuts yesterday.
Demonstrators rallied along a 40-mile stretch of the historic El Camino Real.
Protests were timed to coincide with Governor Schwarzenegger's release of his revised state budget proposal....

Comcast Blocks the Internet, Then the Public
Activists vow, "No more dirty tricks from Comcast!" At the first FCC hearing into Comcast's proven BLOCKING of internet communication, the nation's largest cable company hired seat warmers who promptly fell asleep, preventing interested citizens from attending and providing public comment.
