We are writing to inform you about concerns we have with the book Queering Anarchism, recently published by AK Press. This is not a critique of the politics within Queering Anarchism, albeit we have many, rather it is to offer you vital information on some of the contributing authors. We believe this information to be damning and contrary to anarchy, anarchism, and revolutionary movements alike....

American Rita Boyadjian and her German life partner, Mara, met in Cologne, Germany at a European Gay Pride celebration in 2002 while Rita was touring Europe on vacation. They fell madly in love and began a long-distance relationship. After 18-months of flying back and forth every 3 to 4 weeks while visiting on a tourist visa, Mara was able to obtain a student F-1 visa that allowed her to live legally in the U.S. for a four-year Bachelor’s degree program in Los Angeles....

Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano was to be seated behind us. As she walked in, I talked to her about our issue and shook her hand and thanked her for her efforts thus far. She said "It's in the President's proposal," meaning inclusion of same-sex binational families in comprehensive immigration reform.
...we shook President Obama's hand and reminded him we need his help. What did he say? "We won't forget you! You're in there!"...

Just after the revolution, at least during the first decade of Soviet rule one could speak about a great improvement in the sexual emancipation and gender equality. For instance, in the Criminal Codes of the RSFSR of 1922 and 1926 there were no articles concerning the criminal responsibility for being gay, since Soviet legislation was unaware of the “crimes against morality”....

So I am once again homeless. 5th time in my life, 3rd time this year alone. San Francisco has this thing called Project Homeless Connect. I needed shelter tonight November 27th after losing yet another job. Project Homeless connect referred me to a Dept. called Everyday Connect. They told me to go too Glide Memorial between the hours of 4pm and 7pm, so I did. After wading through the Tenderloin I was told by the tall African American fellow. "We have no shelter tickets" available. So I called...

How many more holidays must we go through apart? Will we have to celebrate our ten-year anniversary over the phone, as we celebrated our five-year anniversary? There is no reason for the United States to maintain these unjust laws other than bigotry, pure and simple. But we, as Americans, can choose to stand up and tell the government that we will no longer endure the pain and suffering being inflicted upon American citizens. It is time for comprehensive immigration reform that includes LGBT ...

San Francisco Supervisor Scott Wiener succeeded in obtaining passage of a very reactionary nudity ban in San Francisco in a close 6 to 5 vote on November 20, 2012, with opposition from David Campos, Christina Olague, John Avalos, Eric Mar, and Jane Kim. All 11 supervisors are Democrats. Supervisor Wiener, elected in 2010 from District 8 (the predominately gay Castro plus Duboce Triangle, Noe Valley, Diamond Heights and Glen Park), who happens to be gay, has hopefully promoted one piece of r...

The Bible thumpers landed at Market on Embarcadero, at the main crosswalk going to the Ferry Building near Justin Herman Plaza, and today, Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at 12 Noon, had a sandwich board sign with a color photo of their Christian religious leader promoting heterosexual marriage as the only valid marriage, and slick, multi-color flyers, very expensive, on top of the sandwich board sign. This promotion of hate must end as there is no free speech for people who FALSELY yell "fire" in a...

The recent announcement by President Obama in support of gay marriage leaves many questions unanswered. Why do we need to get permission from a religious authority figure to be with the one(s) we love and care about? Isn't monogamy really for the birds?...

a 2009 research report cited findings that transgender offenders experienced sexual victimization at a rate twenty times higher than a random sampling of offenders in the same facility. Such evidence indicates that LGBTI offenders are at increased risk for sexual victimization while in custody, and agencies that ignore this may be placing themselves at risk for litigation....
