Teacher/ Activist Cesar Cruz Fired For Caring About Students and Parents Instead of Profit
International Activist, Poet, and Elementary Teacher Cesar Cruz was fired Monday at Downer Elementary School. The firing occured after an article was published that documented Cesar's organizing of a 70 mile march on Sacramento by students and parents to protest budget cuts at their 99% people of color school, as well as the presence of the nearby prison and oil refinery. Sebastopol and FL City Support, Explore Same-Sex Marriage Licenses
Two more cities on opposite sides of the country have joined a growing list of communities calling for legalized same-sex marriage and an end to attempts to amend the US Constitution to bar gay unions. In California, Sebastopol city council passed similar motions, urging the Sonoma County clerk to begin issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples and asking the Board of Supervisors to support civil marriage for gay and lesbian couples....
