Now the lack of tribal status could prevent the Wintu from effective opposition to the proposed CAL-FED raising of Shasta dam that would flood sacred spiritual sites along the McCloud River.....

A slew of silly cyclists defiantly celebrated the 12th birthday of the global Critical Mass movement, born in San Francisco, which included decentralized rolling sound systems all tuned to the same pirate radio station and a roll up the on-ramps to the Bay Bridge, evidently in support of the Transbay Transit Terminal and the need for equal access to the Bay Bridge. Return Stolen Land this Columbus ?Day
Land concessions to tribal people are most important in the regions where logging corporations like Maxxam/Pacific Lumber are profiting from destruction of forests on stolen land. The regions Maxxam/PL claims as their property were stolen via force and murder from indigenous people. We can begin restoration by recognizing the First People who were the original caretakers of the forests....

The Old Growth giant of a redwood known as Aradia...and all of her sisters and brothers in that great last grove of wilderness on the ridges above Grizzly Creek and the Van Duzen was hacked down in a Saturday raid by Maxxam corporate industrial loggers....

Pepper Spray By Q-Tip Trial Ends in Jury Deadlock
The eight jurors in the Pepper Spray by Q-tip trial informed the judge at 3:15 Wednesday afternoon that they were "hopelessly deadlocked" and could not find resolution through further deliberation.
