Today, Friday November 29th, Bay Area (born and raised) youth evaded unjust fares and hopped the turnstiles en masse, stating their concern for their communities and a desire to hold BART accountable for attacks towards them. They say that many people from the Bay regularly hop as a basic point of survival and likewise, they have no intention of stopping these evasions....

The UCSC Graduate Student Association approved a resolution on November 5th calling on the University of California system and UC Santa Cruz to (a) divest from the Thirty Meter Telescope project on Mauna Kea and (b) use their unique leverage concerning the fate of the TMT to make sure construction of it never occurs on Mauna Kea. The resolution, written by members of UCSC Mauna Kea Protectors, passed by an overwhelming margin of 13-2 (with four abstentions)....
