(New York, April 24, 2006) – Incompetence, negligence, and irresponsibility by U.S. states put condemned prisoners at needless risk of excruciating pain during lethal injection executions, Human Rights Watch said in a report released today. On April 21, thousands of students and other young people from around Florida descended on the state capitol building to protest the death of Martin Lee Anderson, a 14-year-old African-American boy who died in a Florida Boot camp one day after being beaten and choked by guards. Alaska is a target for a Police State. It is far removed from the Lower 48 and the stories here are historical. The opportunity for misconduct is great. The reward is the Permanent Fund Money and property of victims to support a Government that needs to pay for the Governor's Jet and trips.
