textCalifornia Special Election Proposition Analysis by Buy Blue (reposted)
The California Special Election slated for November 2005 is the most audacious, gargantuan display of corporate wealth deployed to win an "election" the state has ever seen; it is arguably the worst behemoth of greed and glut that any state has ever seen. The shameless spending by corporations that will benefit from the public’s approval of their ballot measures makes Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger look like Jabba the Hut....

textDon't be fooled by Pharma in November! by Kathy Mitchell
Vote Yes on Prop 79! The prescription drug industry is spending $80 million to blitz California with TV ads for their alternative prescription drug plan. But their plan isn't even enforceable. Its completely voluntary for the companies. We don't have their mega-millions, but we have people power behind Prop 79--the real prescription drug discount plan supported by consumer, senior and labor groups in California....

textTonight in Alameda: 'Theft of an Island' (town hall mtg on development) by repost
I went to the planning board meeting on the Megaplex the other night, and the only people really supporting that thing are the business people and a handful of their friends. Everyone who spoke out against the project was an average resident. One guy who seemed to just be a regular guy supporting the Megaplex, let it slip that he had actually worked on the development of the project! The city officials seem completely bought off. This event seems like a healthy response to the outrageous...
