videoDefeating Prop. 73 (Anti-Choice) depends on San Francisco Turnout (video/quicktime 2.2MB) by Bill Carpenter
Nicole Yelich, field coordinator for the Campaign for Teen Safety, explains that in special elections usually only 36% of SF voters turn out to vote. If 60% turn out on Tuesday, that SF vote will defeat the proposition statewide. Quarter-minute QT movie. 2 MB. textRight-wing initiatives dominate California special election by wsws (reposted)
When California voters go to the polls November 8 for the state’s special election, they will be confronted with a series of right-wing measures. The majority of the eight initiatives on the ballot are aimed at further eroding the living standards and democratic rights of working people. None of the initiatives that voters will be asked to decide on express the concerns and needs of ordinary people in California....

textElection Eve: Whiff of Election Fraud in Air; Poll Watchers Needed by !
Nazi Schwarzenegger is predicting an "upset victory" for his fascist initiatives, Props 73 through 78. Considering he is very unpopular, and his initiatives are either clearly losing or at the 50% disappearing edge, this can only mean that his thugs will be committing election fraud, just as his mentor, Pres Bush did, in 2000 and 2004....

text11/5-11/8 Get Out The Vote Weekend for No on 73-78, Yes on 79&80 by +
Your help is needed this weekend through election day, November 5 through 8, 2005, to defeat the fascist attack on our state by Nazi Schwarzenegger with his $70 million special election. Voter turnout is crucial to defeating this thug's anti-labor program, Props 73 through 78. Everything from precinct walking to phone banking to putting labels on doorhangers is needed now to push the opponents of Props 73 through 78 to the polls and to urge the absentee voters to complete their ballots and ...

On November 2, about 4000 people from around the Bay Area converged on Civic Center plaza to demand "The World Can't Wait! Drive Out the Bush Regime" There were a large number of students from High Schools around the Bay Area. Some high school students had to literally escape. At Oakland High, the administration hired additional security guards and "greased" the gate to make it harder for students to climb over. Students had to climb over barbed wire. And cop cars pat...

The backlash started a year ago when members of the California Nurses Association (CNA) protested Schwarzenegger at a speech he was giving supposedly to honor women's rights. The nurses were angry that he had just signed an executive order overturning a new state law designed to reduce nurse-to-patient ratios and raise the standard of patient care. Faced with the CNA challenge, Arnold yelled out that the nurses were "a special interest who don't like me because I am always kicking the...
