“KPFA lives on listener support, and the Morning Show is the most lucrative program on the station when it comes to pledge drives. KPFA listeners want local content; in fact, since the Morning Show staff was laid off, listenership has plummeted. Figures I’ve obtained on web listenership (which is easy to track, and at KPFA ultimately tends to be similar to the overall listenership tends) show that the peak audience dropped more than 60 percent after the station started piping in outside conte...

It seems to me the issue is not that layoffs are necessary. Everyone sane and knowledgeable seems to concede that point. Even the kpfaworker shills have more or less given up asserting that their glue and sticks PDF solves all the financial problems. So the real issue is *who* gets laid off....

Hundreds of listeners and subscribers have flooded Engelhardt and the Pacifica National Board with emails demanding that they reverse the layoffs of Morning Show staff. “As a KPFA listener, subscriber, and voter for over ten years, I am disgusted with this decision,” writes Arcelia M. “Aimee and Brian have been the voices my family has woken up to every morning, and those of Andrea and Phillip before. Our family connection to them is a vital part of our getting going as our days unfold. Brian...

Nir Rosen was a guest on this morning's Democracy Now! speaking on "Aftermath: Following the Bloodshed of America’s Wars in the Muslim World"

Saturday the Concerned Listeners on the KPFA LSB all voted against advocating that both sides of the budget issues to be given air time. On the programs that their staff allies control we have heard repetitive one sided speeches and rants, even on the news. This after last months CL vote against having any layoffs determined by seniority. That's right the CL "pro union" folks voted against a resolution on the budget to require any layoffs to be by seniority? The CL and their staff allies are...

Today's whine by the Thug Hallinan Gang at 6:30 p.m. on the news not only proudly promoted the vicious tantrum by the arrogant swine called the Morning Show, after the engineer "coincidentally" called in sick, it interviewed the most reactionary defender of this gang, the infamous Larry Bensky....
