Several hundred peace protesters gathered at 16th & Broadway in Sacramento on August 5th to protest Israel's attacks on civilians in Lebanon and the continued U.S. occupations of Iraq and Afghanistan. A small group of pro-Israel "peace" demonstrators and a couple of pro-war demonstrators also showed up....

This clean up, which treated the homeless with dignity and respect, was in sharp contrast with recent attacks on this encampment carried out by the Fresno Police Department....

Here's an announcement about two "scoping" meetings on the "Intertie" Project, another wacky venture by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation to export more Delta water at a time when the Delta food chain is collapsing. I urge everybody concerned about the future of the Delta and West Coast fisheries to attend one of these meetings. The good news is that both meetings are short - two hours each - and the one in Stockton is in the evening from 6 to 8 pm. Here are the details....
