Justice for Derrick Jones supporters take over Oakland City Council Meeting (video/3gpp 4.2MB) During the December 7, 2010 Oakland City Council meeting, outraged and grieving family members, friends and members of the public demanded to be allowed to speak during "Open Forum" at the beginning of the meeting. Oakland Says No Do-Overs for Johannes Mehserle, Press Conference, 10/6/10: PDF & video (video/mp4 42.8MB) On Wednesday, October 6th, community activists held a press conference at Oakland's City Hall to denounce Johannes Mehserle defense attorney Michael Rains' motion to request a new trial [attached below]. The Alameda County District Attorney's office has not yet filed a response.
