The Bay Area Coalition to Fight the Minutemen is mobilizing an action to oppose the Minutemen Project's rally to gather public support for their attempts to harass poor, undocumented border-crossers and to announce their support of a new initiative that would establish a state
border police in addition to the existing federal border patrol. This rally will take place in Sacramento on the Capitol steps on October 29th from 10am to 12:30pm....

A heads up on a rally by the Minutemen from info off of their website. Details of the fight to stop this rally upcoming. This heads up is especiallly important so those in Sacramento can organize early agaisnt these racists and so that those in other areas can figure out the logistics of getting there....

Honduran Immigrants in New Orleans: Fleeing Mitch, Katrina and Now the U.S. Government
It is estimated that 120,000 Hondurans lived in the New Orleans area. Many were refugees from Hurricane Mitch, which devastated Honduras in 1998 killing up to 10,000 people. While many Honduran immigrants were granted temporary legal status, others are undocumented and fear deportation. Democracy Now! travels to Louisiana to speak with some of the Honduran survivors there....
