A beautiful and spontaneous thing happened Friday night.
Four of us sat down on the street corner and by the
end of the night, hours later, a group of 14 of us sat
together. Jewish and Muslim, migrant and US born and
together we took a small step for peace.
From little things, sometimes big things grow......

Right now, 8 a.m., July 23, at 94.1 FM KPFA, Larry Bensky is hosting a 3 hour special on the Middle East Crisis with a wide variety of guest experts. This is a good way to get informed on the horrors of US/Israeli imperialism. KPFA also has many daily programs providing outstanding truthful information on the desperate deadly gasps of a dying social order, capitalism....

A federal appeals court on Wednesday declined to reconsider its April decision to overturn the felony convictions of "Guru of Ganja" Ed Rosenthal of Oakland.
A three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals had found juror misconduct — a juror's conversation with an attorney-friend during deliberations — compromised Rosenthal's right to a fair verdict, and so warrants a new trial for the renowned marijuana activist...

The El Cerrito City Council had a second vote yesterday (Monday) on a
ban against dispensaries. Despite compelling arguments by Mikki Norris,
Chris Conrad, Richard Muller, and myself (with no testimony in favor of
a ban), the city council voted 3-2 to ban dispensaries......

You probably know that the Pentagon has been spying on anti-war groups.
Now it turns out that Homeland Security has been working hand in glove with the Pentagon—at least in California.
The ACLU of Northern California released two documents on July 18 that reveal Homeland Security as a source of information for the Pentagon on protests at the University of California Berkeley and UC Santa Cruz....
