Reductions in Numbers of Some Animals Used in So-Called Research at UCSF
According to annual research reports from UCSF, there have been substantial reductions in the (ab)use of some animals at the university over the past four years. Reductions were noted for hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, pigs and sheep. Even greater reductions in their numbers were noted over the past twenty years....

After 20 years, Whale Meat Returns To Japanese School Lunch
It is disturbing that whale meat is reappearing in Japanese school lunches, and infuriation at animal cruelty is good insofar as it motivates us to protect animals. However, I’m not comfortable with any condemnatory attitude expressed towards an entire country. We can all boycott whom we choose, but in my mind U.S. treatment of animals is also abhorrent, and on a greater scale.
