This was a kickoff rally for over 60,000 hotel workers whose contracts have
expired or are about to expire this summer. If agreements are not reached
there maybe the first national hotel workers strike.

On Thursday March 9, 2006, there will be a picket in solidarity with locked out Illinois Meredosia
Boilermakers in Berkeley. Also there will be a solidarity rally and video showing in Oakland with
Meredoisa workers and other fired workers.
There will be a regional tour of Merediosia locked out workers in Northern California and this
is part of their solidarity tour....

On Thursday Feb 9 at the Oakland State Building at 9:30 AM injured workers will speak-out about
the attack on them as a result of the deregulation of workers' comp. Tens of thousands of
workers have been unable to receive medical care for their injuries and some have committed
suicide as well as losing their homes and families....

The Oakland Unified School District ended it's scab hiring at the Airport Hilton, but has resumed it at district offices at 314 E. 10th Street in Huerta Hall. These will continue through Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. All are encouraged to go there to let the educational bureaucrats know what the Bay Area working class thinks about hiring scabs in our community....
