Several hundred people gathered outside of SBC Park in San Francisco on Sunday to protest the Israel National Day celebration that was taking place inside. Hundreds of protesters marched and performed street theater on the sidewalk, and some were able to hand flyers to people as they went into the building. A contingent from Reclaim the Commons left at about 1:30 to march to the Really, Really Free Market, which was held at Union Square....

The money wasted this morning on the unnecessary heavy police presence could have been spent on programs for the homeless, abused women shelters, senior services etc, etc, etc. The police must not be allowed to use demonstrations as a padding for overtime....
