Diebold is thwarting the will of the voters and stonewalling IRV.
Diebold recently quoted the county an IRV price tag of $2 million
dollars. Diebold also told city and county officials they can't
start IRV development for a whole year....

Union City extends pot moratorium
She was one of several medical marijuana patients who spoke at
Tuesday's City Council meeting, challenging a city moratorium on
dispensaries.
The city had issued an emergency moratorium on dispensaries in March,
after learning that one was about to open in the city. On Tuesday,
council members voted 4 to 1 to extend the moratorium until June......

Pictures From the 4/14 Strike At UCB
Thousands of UCB staff and students as well as many labor activists took part in an all day strike and picket in Berkeley. The rally reached its largest point around 4PM when Robert J. Birgeneau was sworn in as chancellor. Birgeneau eventually came outside and addressed the crowd. (more reports and details will be posted shortly)...

Tonight at 6:15 the Citizen Police Review Board will be meeting to hold a hearing in the Oakland City Hall Council Chambers. The complaintant alleges that two Oakland Police Officers discriminated on the basis of race, improperly searched his vehicle, and were rude an unprofessional. The hearing is open to the public....
