supports of MMJ in SF, will be holding a press conference on SF CIty Hall steps to
announce their resolution calling on SF's own minority leader, Nancy Pelosi, to step
up her considerable efforts so far in support of patients' rights, and openly whip
the democratic vote planned tomorrow on the Hinchey amendment to defund DEA attacks
and DOJ prosecutions of state-legal medical marijuana activity....

expected to happen on Tuesday, June 13 (tomorrow). In the wake
of Monday's Supreme Court ruling in the Angel Raich medical
marijuana case, it is crucial that positive progress in the
number of members of Congress voting for medical marijuana be
shown....

Next Tuesday at noon, Congress will have their first opportunity to act
on an invitation extended by 6 Supreme Court Justices to protect medical
marijuana patients. Call your U.S. Representative on Monday or Tuesday
morning and urge their support on the Hinchey-Rohrabacher Amendment to
the Justice Appropriations bill....

The Supreme Court ruled Monday that the federal government can prosecute the sick for the medical use of marijuana, even in states where it is legal. In a 6-3 ruling, the court agreed with the Bush administration that the regulation of controlled substances, including marijuana, is the province of Congress without exception. Justice John Paul Stevens wrote for the majority "If there is any conflict between federal and state law, federal law shall prevail."...
