Take Back Santa Cruz will occasionally mobilize a court watch when there is a victim of a crime to support or when a transient arrested. They really like to go to court when it involves an unhoused individual. This happened in 2013 with Kenneth Maffei who was neither homeless or guilty but I digress. On May 17 they are mobilizing another court watch for the 5 minute arraignment of Landon Horseman who was arrested for assault ....

The Freedom Sleepers continue to directly oppose local laws that criminalize homelessness in Santa Cruz. On May 10, they held their 44th community sleepout at City Hall. The activists, some housed and some unhoused, have been organizing the sleepouts once a week since July 4. Identity Europa, formerly known as the National Youth Front, the youth wing of the Neo-Nazi American Freedom Party along with members of the National Policy Institute held a rally on UC Berkeley campus with the full protection and cooperation of the campus police. The group livestreamed the whole event and even put up a large poster in the Downtown Berkeley area. Last night we saw the community once again rise up in support of #Frisco5. We began with 5 but now we are growing to #Frisco500 and will soon be #Frisco5000. From the more than one thousand marchers on May 3 to the community members who echoed the #Frisco5 calls for justice last night at City Hall, a movement has been born....

Supporters of the #Frisco5 Hunger Strikers called a vigil for 3:00 PM on Friday, 5/6 at the UN Plaza, a block away from City Hall. But it was a diversion - a larger group entered San Francisco City Hall and took up a presence outside the Mayor's office about 4:00 PM. As the evening wore on more supporters, now being referred to as the #Frisco500, came and occupied the lobby of the building....

At least 5 days ago, the Democrat mayor Ed Lee and everyone else knew the 5 Hunger Strikers sitting at the Mission Police Station for almost 2 weeks would be arriving at City Hall on 5/3/16 at 1 p.m. with supporters, who numbered at almost 1,000 people to ask the mayor to fire Police Chief Suhr for justifying numerous police murders....
