Poster art popped up in and around San Francisco to protest the rise of the Intelligence State: Google's collusion with the government, collecting information on all of us and making our political leaders dependent on this giant corporation. Bush started it, and Obama made it permanent. Google is now pulling the strings of our government. When will it end?...

Take Back Santa Cruz will occasionally mobilize a court watch when there is a victim of a crime to support or when a transient arrested. They really like to go to court when it involves an unhoused individual. This happened in 2013 with Kenneth Maffei who was neither homeless or guilty but I digress. On May 17 they are mobilizing another court watch for the 5 minute arraignment of Landon Horseman who was arrested for assault ....

The Freedom Sleepers continue to directly oppose local laws that criminalize homelessness in Santa Cruz. On May 10, they held their 44th community sleepout at City Hall. The activists, some housed and some unhoused, have been organizing the sleepouts once a week since July 4. From the more than one thousand marchers on May 3 to the community members who echoed the #Frisco5 calls for justice last night at City Hall, a movement has been born....

Supporters of the #Frisco5 Hunger Strikers called a vigil for 3:00 PM on Friday, 5/6 at the UN Plaza, a block away from City Hall. But it was a diversion - a larger group entered San Francisco City Hall and took up a presence outside the Mayor's office about 4:00 PM. As the evening wore on more supporters, now being referred to as the #Frisco500, came and occupied the lobby of the building....
