Friday, November 9, 2007 : Supervisor Michela Alioto-Pier has repeatedly pushed to enact a “Code of Conduct” to regulate Supervisor’s conduct. Her proposed Code emphasizes “mutual respect,” and seeks to “improve the credibility and accountability of elected officials.” But while Alioto-Pier is busy castigating her colleagues for behavior she deems inappropriate, she appears to have no hesitation violating her own proposed rules....

Friday, November 2, 2007 : It is no secret that the SF Weekly’s Matt Smith has trouble getting his facts straight, and that Supervisor Michela Alioto-Pier rarely does her homework. These two great minds have now combined to claim in the October 10 SF Weekly and at the October 30 Board of Supervisors meeting that the Tenderloin Housing Clinic (publisher of Beyond Chron) spends millions of dollars of city funds on illegal lobbying each year....

"Concerned Listeners" supported management has been thwarting efforts to have programming on the history of the Black Panther Party on the anniversary of the party. While providing entrenched programmers hours and hours to play music as djs E, they could not provide more than one hour to the history of the Black Panther Party. This a continuing example of the priorities of the management and the effort to prevent new Black and community programmers from getting on the air. They have consiste...

It is we, the Concerned Listeners slate that wants to bring democracy to the board and to the station. It is the People’s Radio folks and their allies who are fighting tooth and nail to keep a broad, representative local Station Board from being elected. Look at who is running on our slate and who our endorsers are! The People’s Radio folks are not interested in bringing new people on to the Board—people who haven’t participated before in KPFA and that represent progressive currents that may ...

In an effort to rig and destroy the democratic election process, KPFA managers have stalled getting statements on the web page of the candidates, prevented the radio carts and even announcements of the election during the pledge drive and have supported by their silence the efforts of Interim Executive Director and Pacifica's conflicted counselor Daniel M. Siegel.
