After Israel's Operation Cast Lead decimated much of Gaza in 2008-2009, independent filmmaker Maurice Jacobsen was compelled to document the extended aftermath beyond the first wave of post-war Gaza coverage. He began fundraising and planning production. He waited three months in Egypt before being able to enter the territory.
