The Caravan for Justice III traveled to Sacramento on Tuesday, May 26th to continue to pressure state lawmakers to demand changes in laws and policies that disproportionately, unfairly, and negatively effect people of color and the poor in California. Buses and speakers came from Richmond, Vallejo, Oakland, Berkeley, Stockton, Modesto, Bakersfield, Antioch, Pittsburgh, East Palo Alto and San Francisco.

Gregory Barfield, the City of Fresno Homeless Prevention Manager (AKA the Homeless Czar), granted me an in-depth interview today. We discussed why the city is leaving money for the homeless unspent, year after year, in their budget, the concept of “Safe Ground” (a campground where the homeless could safely and legally live), and when the city is going to start providing housing vouchers for the homeless. 51:36 minute audio....
