Bathrooms....in Santa Cruz??!! Today's Sunday Sentinel featured Jessica York's story around Santa Cruz, the Town Without Crappers. A front-page above-the-fold story, no less. Agreement Reached to Close Cemex Sand Mine in Marina 
On July 13, the California Coastal Commission will consider an agreement that would close the Cemex Lapis Sand Mine in Marina. The mine has been linked to severe coastal erosion in the southern Monterey Bay, which is losing more coastline than anywhere else in the state.
Surfrider, Save our Shores, and all our partners in this fight are in support of the agreement. But the Coastal Commission needs to know that you support it too.

FightBack against City Manager's Anti-Homeless Signs at City Hall 
Throughout the past week, unhoused folks, who some call the Survival Sleepers, have defied the latest drive-em-out edicts of City Manager Martin Bernal.
