Cop Watch keeps an eye on police in San Jose, where on Friday nights the popular downtown area is saturated with patrol cars. Led by an activist called Quetza, the Cop Watch crew spent a couple of hours out on the street April 1 and into the early morning of April 2. Indybay reporter Peter Maiden, who has been covering police issues in San Jose for the last five months, came along to document their efforts....

Our family is trying to get an open Grand Jury. We will be having a protest this Friday, April 1st starting at 12pm, noon. It will be held at the District Attorney's office, located at the corner of Hedding and First Street at 70 W. Hedding in San Jose. We need as much help as we can get....

In the wake of the tragic January 9th shooting in Ceres, police have used the the excuse of "gangs" to harass, profile, illegally search, raid homes, and send the poor areas of Ceres into a police state. With no system of citizen control to keep the police in check, local law enforcement are free to profile and label anyone who fits their idea of a "gang member", and use armed SWAT teams against teenagers simply walking in their own
neighborhoods.
This kind of abuse...

This is a very cautious telling of the obvious cover-up of 9/11, and a distancing from the more scary-to-imagine-but-scientifically-plausible theories (where the Bush Admin didn't let it happen, but instead, made it happen), but it gives some coverage to the issue. Many news articles about police shootings ending in death of victim only give side of police, usually the victim is blamed and usually questions are not asked as to what actually happened and maybe the shooting could have been handled differently....
