Ballots for the KPFA Local Station Board election must be received by next Saturday, December 4. (The deadline was changed because of late mailing of the ballots.) They can be mailed (preferably by Wednesday) or can be brought to the station ONLY ON SATURDAY between 11 am and 7 pm....

The Bay Guardian filed suit Oct. 19 against the SF Weekly, the East Bay Express, and New Times Newspapers, the Phoenix-based chain that owns the two local weeklies, charging that the nation's largest alternative newsweekly chain had illegally sold advertising below cost in an effort to put the family-owned Bay Guardian out of business....

On Friday November 12th at about 21.00h, the DNS-provider of Indymedia Netherlands received a writ of execution from the Haaglanden Police, demanding information on the person that posted a threat to politician Geert Wilders on the website of Indymedia.nl. The provider has to submit this information within 48 hours, that is by Sunday at 21.00h. Thus preventing the DNS-provider from seeking legal advice....
