On June 12, family members held a memorial for Derrick Gaines, a 15 year old who was shot and killed by an officer with the South San Francisco Police Department on the evening of June 5th. Police claim that Gaines, who was walking with a friend near an Arco gas station, was engaging in "suspicious behavior". They tried to stop him, and they say he ran and produced a gun. The video (4:41 minute) below is from the Occupy Fresno press conference held today in Courthouse Park to share the results of the settlement with the County of Fresno on the 100+ arrests that have taken place over the last eight months. The good news is that all charges have been dropped and Occupy Fresno can once again have all night demonstrations in the park....

On July 22, 2010, 16 year old James Earl Rivera, Jr. was shot and killed in a hail of 48 bullits fired by Stockton PD Officers, Gregory Nunn and Eriz Azavard and San Joaquin County Sheriff Deputy John Nesbit. 18 year old Skyline High School Senior Alan Blueford, who lived in Tracy Ca., was shot three times and killed by Oakland Police in the vicinity of 90th and Birch Street in East Oakland at midnight on Sat. May 6. Police did not notify the family of their son's death. The family learned about the murder from a friend of their son who was arrested at the scene and held for six hours, and who called Alan's home aftere his release....
