I wanted to share some information about a Senate Bill ( SB 272) which has to do the public right's to access public information at little to no cost to private citizens. If this bill get's approved it will save money, paper and give the people access to information we have a right to ask for. Oceanographer Dr. Sylvia Earle and 230 scientists signed on to a letter opposing the deadly California drift gillnet fishery for swordfish, which has some of the highest bycatch rates in the world. The letter specifically requests that immediate action be taken to phase out the fishery and protect the ecological integrity of California’s coastal waters....

GOGAMA, Ont.— An oil train derailed and caught fire early this morning in Ontario near the town of Gogama, the second such incident in Ontario in three weeks, and the fourth oil train wreck in North America in the same time period. Since Feb. 14, there have also been fiery oil train derailments in West Virginia and Illinois. The Illinois wreck occurred just two days ago, and the fire from that incident is still burning....
