Chief Mills and a dozen or more cops, rangers, and camp trashers moved on to evict and fence out the homeless tent-shelter-in-place encampment along Water St. near the Post Office. This "out of sight/out of town" policy, while claiming a public health rationale rings false given the lack of protected indoor shelter being offered in spite of the funding available....

In essence, now that the SSA offices have been shut down locally, and across the nation, and people cannot reach anyone at the tele-service centers because they have not been expanded, it places tens of thousands of HUD’s subsidized housing tenants at risk when they are not able to obtain documents that are needed to verify their income when it’s time to renew their housing contracts!...

Is the number of people infected with coronavirus manipulated by the Japanese government? The number of tests is overwhelmingly small. I don't know the exact number of people infected. There is no doubt that this is related to the economic effects of the Tokyo Olympics....

I was in the Philippines during 1972 while Martial Law existed under the Marcos administration. There were soldiers/armed forces on the streets and anyone caught on the streets after midnight was subject to arrest or being shot. At times it was very frightening!...

The House of Representatives, under the direction of Speaker Nancy Pelosi, cobbled together a bill this week calling on employers to provide paid sick leave to their workers. See http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2020/roll102.xml However, the 54% of American workers who work for companies with more than 500 employees, such as Amazon, McDonald’s, etc. are not covered. Small companies with less than 50 employees can obtain emergency exemptions. That leaves only 20% covered by this bill....

SANTA CRUZ, March 12, 2020 – On Wednesday, the Santa Cruz Public Safety Committee voted to approve a Surveillance Technology Ordinance that would prevent the government from using any surveillance technology without public debate, clear use policies, and mechanisms of oversight and accountability. Reportedly, there are 21 people, including 19 crew members aboard the cruise ship that have tested positive for the coronavirus, with many others aboard that have not yet been tested. The ship will dock at a terminal in the Outer Harbor in Oakland on Sunday afternoon. The coronavirus infected cruise ship includes around 3,500 passengers according to reports....
