SF unions are picketing the Hyatt, where the Conference is being held. Hotel workers have been locked out of their jobs for weeks because they had the nerve to ask for economic security and health benefits. San Francisco is a union town. Why hasn't the conference been moved to another location? Is the confrence to help "We the people" or PR for Corporations?...

A global study revealed yesterday that almost a third of amphibians face extinction - and pollution is cited as the biggest cause. The three-year survey, involving 500 scientists from more than 60 countries, has found that a third of the 5,743 known species are threatened with being wiped out and at least 427 are so critically endangered that they could disappear tomorrow....

Land concessions to tribal people are most important in the regions where logging corporations like Maxxam/Pacific Lumber are profiting from destruction of forests on stolen land. The regions Maxxam/PL claims as their property were stolen via force and murder from indigenous people. We can begin restoration by recognizing the First People who were the original caretakers of the forests....
