Jean Jacques Rousseau said: "Distribution means no one is so rich he can buy others and no one is so poor he must sell himself." The devaluation of human work could trigger another possible political-social revolution.. The question is to what extent an automation of thinking follows the automation of muscle power....

In truth, the introduction of the eight-hour day, the free Saturday and the fifth vacation week (in Austria) did not cause economic crises. Reduced working hours means more distribution justice for the general public and more quality of life for workers. The efficiency of employees increases and the danger of accident declines through reduced working hours. Whoever works less lives healthier and has more time for the family, for (personal) development and for voluntary activity....

The Korean Park government is seeking to jail two journalists who exposed a murder case involving two relatives of the corrupt Park administration over a family run foundation. The liberal economists of the 19th century claimed no crises could occur in capitalism since every supply creates its demand. On the other hand, Marx and Engels recognized early on the causes for crises in capitalism. The contradictions of the accumulation process lead to crises. Capitalists want to minimize wages as much as possible... The present crisis is a system crisis, possibly the most severe in the last 500 years. While economic crises have a cyclical character, crises of nature have ...

For weeks, the fate of Syrian Kurds has become one of the most important justifications for the imperialist intervention under way in the region; international media have focused attention around Syrian Kurdistan (Kurdistana Rojava, Western Kurdistan, in Kurdish) and the city of Kobané attacked by forces of a group called the"Islamic State" (better known by the acronyms in English or Arabic: ISIS or Daech)....

As we head deeper into the 21st century, it's becoming painfully obvious that there are fewer and fewer jobs available. The wealth of others has become more a problem than an incentive. Capital is blind, Thomas Piketty says. Capital grows faster than the economy. Differences in wealth are inherent in capitalism but do not represent a natural law. A society can accept them or act against them. Piketty shows how easy it is for the rich to evade taxation.
