textNeoCons Silent on Regime Change in Ecuador by DLi
After going overtime to "support democractic movements" in Ukraine, Lebanon and even claiming democratic credentials on the manipulated J30 Iraqi election, the White House is eerily silent on a great democraatic movement south of the border. In Ecuador, the masses--by voting with their feet--toppled a "Washington kiss-ass" president Gutierez. But you won't hear W praise the democratic people's power in Ecuador......

textMexico City's mayor Lopez Obrador stripped of immunity by GNN (reposted)
Mexico’s “democratic” history is marked by years and years of rule by the PRI, who finally lost the presidency to Vicente Fox. Fox made few, if any, substantial changes in Mexico, and is well loved by the U.S. administration. A leftist president in Mexico, while unlikely to affect any truly revolutionary change, could help other “progressive” leaders find the will needed to stand up to the U.S., the World Bank, the IMF. You can be certain that Mexican congresspeople were pressured by Am...
