KPFA management apparently called the cops to arrest a Black women programmer and in the process hog tied her and broke her arm. The use of police to deal with issues at KPFA has a long history with the lockout in 1999. The Lawyers’ Committee filed a lawsuit today on behalf of Latino voters against the Madera Unified School District (MUSD), charging that the school district’s at-large method of election is racially polarized and violates the California Voting Rights Act of 2001 (CVRA). The suit challenges the school district’s discriminatory voting system and seeks to protect the Latino community against vote dilution....

The California Senate on Wednesday passed a Joint Resolution urging the federal government to restore federal recognition status to the Winnemem Wintu Tribe. The resolution, authored by Assembly Member Huffman, passed with 24 votes. The Tribe has played a big leadership role in the battle to restore the California Delta and Central Valley rivers and stop the raising of Shasta Dam....

The Sacramento Chapter of the ACLU today criticized the
Sacramento Police Department for what it calls evidence of "racial
profiling" after an analysis of traffic stops revealed black and Latino

June 1, 1921 is a day that will be remembered when "Black Wall Street" was bombarded. May 30, 2008 in San Francisco there was another type of bombing - over 138,900 structures per cubic meter - blasted innocent children and elders - mostly of color. If we do not record such events - history will talk of other things but not important events. When mundane events are reported - they over shadow - that what MUST be told....
