ASA has been alerted that yesterday (3/15/05), at about 6pm, Los Angeles Police
raided the United Medical Caregivers Clinic (UMCC), a medical marijuana
dispensing collective. The police obtained a search warrant and came with
approximately thirty officers to seize all of the collective's medicine and
money....

Eddy is still in custody. He has an asset forfeiture hearing on March
21st at 4pm. This is expected to be a filing appearance only and it's
not necessary for supporters to attend. The next day at 9:30am he is
back before Judge Patel to discuss his status and determine counsel.

In 1981, State Representative Andrew Card, Jr. introduced, by request,
Massachusetts House Bill 1737, the Massachusetts Cannabis Revenue and
Education Bill, to create a Cannabis Control Authority to regulate the
commercial production and distribution of marijuana, with different
licenses required for importation, cultivation, processing and retailing
activities...
