We have entered the largest scale wild buffalo slaughter since the 19th century. Now is the time to contact Congress and urge them to take proactive measures to stop the slaughter and protect America's last wild bison population and its habitat....

To defend the wild is no small thing, because it is the Earth that is being defended. The Earth is wild and that is more important than we are. When groups like Sea Shepherd or EarthFirst! defend the wild, they are condemned as ‘violent’ and ‘extreme’, but they are working to continue the wild, the life that exists independently of us. The wild Earth that does not need us, does not know us, but is threatened by us. The wild Earth needs no defence but it needs more defenders....

There are less than 10 days left in the Japanese whaling season, and Sea Shepherd Conservation Society’s ship, the Steve Irwin, has reached the limit of its fuel reserves and is heading back to Port knowing they have hindered the whaling slaughter to perhaps half the anticipated quota....

Reports from the International Whaling Commission 3 day intercessional meeting in London say that commercial whaling may be allowed but the scientific loophole which has allowed Japan to whale in the Antarctic may be closed. This would allow Japan to whale commercially in the north Pacific regulated by the IWC. The meeting also rebuked Sea Shepherd over "Safety at Sea"....

Thursday, March 6, 2008 :The Japanese whaling program began on December 15. Japan was able to hunt and kill whales from December 15 until January 8, for a total of 23 days. They resumed whaling operations on February 2 until February 23 for an additional 21 days, making a total of 44 whaling days, or 6 weeks and 2 days....
