Letter To The Editor
Our mental health is just as important as physical health. COVID-19 has had a major effect on
the mental health of many people in the US and around the globe. In 2019 the pandemic
emergence caught the world off guard and we were not prepared for what was going to happen
next. People are feeling disconnected from friends and family members. Most of us never had a
moment in the past two years to process what has happened, by the loss of a job or a loved
one. Our mental health ended up suffering the most and we didn't even know it was happening.
During the COVID-19 pandemic there is a possibility that you were more on edge. That you felt
angry, helpless or even sad. Have you noticed you want to completely avoid anything that
reminds you the of what is happening. This is a clear sign that COVID-19 has affected everyone
in some type of way directly or indirectly. We will continue to see the aftermath of this virus
outbreak for many decades. This is why we need to put more resources into helping our
communities deal with the impact that COVID-19 pandemic has had on our mental health.
