Honorable William Alexander Leidesdorff, Jr. was recognized as the "African Founding Father of California" by the California State Legislature, yet his astounding contributions to the forward flow of humanity remains a secret. The 170th Anniversary of the California Gold Rush and his untimely death in San Francisco as we return to the place of his birth, an Island Paradise, St. Croix, Virgin Islands.

Born in October 23, 1810 at Spring Garden Estate, St. Croix, Danish West Indies, William Alexander Leidesdorff, Jr. was the oldest son of five children, Frederik Laurentius Join us throughout the Month of May 2018 to allow the legacy of Honorable William Alexander Leidesdorff, Jr. our African Cuban, Danish Jewish success story to inspire children all around the world. Leidesdorff, Elisa Leidesdorff, Adriane Leidesdorff and Anna Christiane Leidesdorff all birthed by their mother Anna Marie Sparks, of African and Cuban ancestry and her common law husband Wilhelm Alexander Leidesdorff, Sr. of Danish Jewish ancestry.

Anna Marie Sparks in later years within official St. Croix census records was classified as a free Carib Indian. Wilhelm Leidesdorff Sr. was reportedly of Jewish descent from today's community of Altona, Hamburg, Germany.

Anna Marie and Wilhelm reportedly met and lived in New Orleans under Spanish rule before the Louisiana Purchase, they made the wise decision to move to St. Croix and live together as man and wife.

As an infant, William Leidesdorff, Jr. was baptized in the Lutheran Church, as were all the Leidesdorff children, the adopted faith which his father and many other people of Jewish ancestry assumed to avoid conflict. In 1837 Leidesdorff, Sr. officially "adopted" all four of his own children from Anne Marie Sparks to give them legal standing by Danish Law.

Honorable William Alexander Leidesdorff, Jr. was recognized as the "African Founding Father of California" by the California State Legislature and his astounding contributions to the City/County of San Francisco remains a closely guarded secret to visitors, students and residents of the Great State of California.

May 2018, we mark the 170th Anniversary of the California Gold Rush and untimely death of the Honorable William Alexander Leidesdorff, Jr.

Together, we will share the inspirational musical sounds of “Island Paradise” as we prepare for October 2018, Leidesdorff Day helping to awaken the living spirit of the Honorable William Alexander Leidesdorff, Jr., for the world to rediscover and honor his vast contributions to the forward flow of humanity.
