Professor George Wright in an interview on 9/27/17 talks about the growing mass protest of NLF athletes against the racist conditions in the US and the attack by President Trump on the players for their statement of solidarity. His attack on the players led to a mass protest by the players including the some of the their bosses who were forced to join the plays on the field. Now Trump is complaining that the players are bullying the owners.
Wright discusses the history of the NFL and the economic real conditions and lives of the athletes. He also discusses the forces that have led athletes like 49er quarter back Colin Kaepernick to take action that led to the loss of his job and shunning by the league bosses. Professor Wright has written on the commodification of sports and the role of class and race in the Olympics and Super Bowl.

The attacks by Trump on the players calling for them to be fired and for the owners to crack down on their rights has brought a backlash.
§National Anthem, Nationalism and Racism
by KPFA WorkWeek Radio
nfl-players-protest-national-anthem.jpg
The players in speaking out about the reality of their lives, the lives of their families and their communities. The NFL billionaire owners and Trump are using the "flag" and and nationalism to push more wars around the world. The US military give tens of millions of dollars to the owners to recruit working class and minority youth to go to war to support US imperialist interests around the world.
§Racist Hatred By Trump
by KPFA WorkWeek Radio
trump_rant.jpeg
The open racist rants by Trump at his Alabama "campaign rally" at a all white audience is an effort to build a national fascist racist movement and his attack on the NFL players is an effort to get them in line and to shut them up.
