The McCoppin Sewar-Another SF fail?
The McCoppin hub is still in a state of neglect after it was fenced off in February 2017.
Years and months later the so-called McCoppin Hub is still fenced off and is now in a state of ruin. This park is managed by the SF Plaza Program Coordinator with the City’s Real Estate Division, who "currently manages the plaza and is heading up the construction project." However it was stated in several news articles by Hoodline a permanent fence was supposed to be completed by the Spring of 2017, but you can see the progress via my photos. As a resident I had also been intimidated by the lawless activity that often occurred there. There had been a few events held at that hub that included food trucks and music, but soon after it became a nuisance? If illegal activity had been occurring there then why didn't the police do something about it?
Anyhow most residents in San Francisco get to enjoy and or use their public parks or hubs; however we get to see this run down area daily on our walks etc. This hub may be in district 6 although the maps show it could fall within several districts. Jane Kim is the current supervisor for district 6.
Some sort of fencing is going up, but it seems the construction of the new fence is stalled.
