AFGE Leader Eugene Hudson Jr. Announces Campaign For AFGE National President

Eugene Hudson Jr. who was the National Secretary Treasurer of AFGE terminated by the president of the AFGE J. David Cox and his national board. Hudson Jr. had called for a pro-active response to Trump and the fascist and racist forces and also questioned the financial irregularities in the union. Hudson Jr. announced that he is now running for national president

AFGE National Secretary Treasurer Eugene Hudson Jr. was removed by National President J. David Cox and the Board of Directors with the charge that he had violated the Hatch Act for sending out a notice calling for AFGE and the labor movement to challenge Trump. He also had challenged serious financial mismanagement by top union officials. He announced with some of his supporters that he is now running for national president of the American Federation of Government Employees which will be having a national convention August 2018 in Las Vegas.
This press conference took place on September 7, 2017 and local and regional leaders of the union spoke out on why they are supporting him.

Eugene Hudson Jr. met with local and regional leaders as well as rank and file members to discuss not only his termination but some of the issues facing the union.

Eugene Hudson Jr. letter to the rank and file membership was sent by email to the members and J David Cox charged that this was a violation of the Hatch Act. The government department in charge of this act has written that this is no longer the case. Hudson Jr. has over 40 years with the union and was elected at the last convention by acclamation.
