Save the Beach Flats Garden
Marching From Santa Cruz City Hall to The Seaside Company (owners of The Boardwalk) and stopping at New Leaf asking that they honor the Boycott of Driscoll's berries!
For 23 yrs., the Beach Flats Community Garden has thrived as a hub for sustainable urban farming, skill-sharing, cultural preservation and community building. The Seaside Company, witch owns the Boardwalk and the land that contains the Beach Flats, is poised to take over 10.000 Sq. feet of the of the garden, comprising half of the area that the gardeners have been tending for over 20 yrs. The neighbor hood and gardeners depend on vegetables, fruit and herbs produced by this amazing garden to feed thies families and cannot afford this loss. Please show your support for the preservation of the Beach Flats Garden by writing or calling the Seaside Company and asking that they sell the entire 26.000 sq. ft. of the garden to the City of Santa Cruz at fair market value for a permanent garden.
