WorkWeek looks at the use of Alameda County Deputies to bully and intimidate the California Teachers Association representative Guillermo "Memo" Durgin and San Lorenzo High School teachers. Three deputies were called by the district to prevent Memo from speaking to the teachers during the non-paid lunch period. They are facing systemic bullying against their demands for a decent contract.
Next WorkWeek hears about the recent action by an Israeli legal non-profit supported by the Mossad which filed a complaint with the National Labor Relations Board NLRB arguing that the United Electrical Workers had violated the law by endorsing the Boycott, Divestment Sanctions policy against the Israeli government. The same organization filed a complaint against former president Jimmy Carter for his book on apartheid Israel. Al Hart who is the editor of the UE newspaper discusses this NLRB complaint and the union resolution. Also WorkWeek interviews Carol Lambiase who is a retired UE International Representative who participated in a labor tour from Connecticut to Israel and the West Bank. She discusses the conditions for workers and their families in the apartheid state of Israel.
