Add Your Voice: Ask Oprah to Renounce Leviev’s Blood Diamonds & Illegal Settlements
One week ago Adalah-NY launched an online appeal to US megastar and social justice philanthropist Oprah Winfrey calling on her to publicly distance herself from the abusive business practices of the companies of Israeli billionaire Lev Leviev in Palestine and Angola. Ms. Winfrey was featured wearing Leviev diamond earrings on the cover of the May 2015 edition of O, The Oprah Magazine, lending Leviev her credibility. Over 2500 people have now signed our online letter to Ms. Winfrey, and also emailed that letter to her team.

Over 2500 people have now signed our online letter to Ms. Winfrey, and also emailed that letter to her team. Our campaign was covered by the Atlanta Blackstar. These are great developments, but Oprah Winfrey and her team have not yet taken action. They seem to still need to hear from more people that we care about this issue.
If you have not signed the letter yet, we encourage you to add your voice to those calling on Oprah Winfrey to publicly distance herself from Leviev’s companies’ brutal human rights abuses in Angola’s diamond industry and their construction of illegal Israeli settlements on Palestinian land.
