The Hazards of Statins

a litany of negative consequences of statins

Negative effects of Statins such as Lipitor, Crestor Etc Include Strokes, Memory Loss, Diabetes, Impotence, Muscle Pain, Muscle Weakness, Inflammation, Vertigo or Dizziness etc.

The US Veterans Administration as well as many hospitals and doctors aligned to international drug cartels in many cases prescribe statins such as Lipitor and Crestor for veterans with high blood pressure, blocked arteries. VA MD's who advise vegan diet are not commonplace.

In isocaloric studies, vegetarians weigh 11 pounds less than nonvegetarians while vegans weigh 23 pounds less. Fruitarians not in the study but interviewed weighed the least of the 4 groups. Excess weight is hard on the heart.

Vegetarian heartbeat is an average 20 beats per minute less than nonvegetarian heartbeats because the heart pump does not have to push blood through clogged arteries. Vegan and fruitarian heartbeats indicate the most efficient hearts.

Vegetarians, vegans, and fruitarians are not eating uric acid, trioxypurines which stimulate the heartbeat unnaturally. The amyloid plaque which lines the arteries of nonvegetarians as a result of animal protein metabolism is not present either. The adrenaline residue saturating the muscle cells of mammal, bird and fish flesh causes an unnatural excitation of the heart as it recreates the terror and agony of the butcheed animal.

Statins as a cause of inflammation, pain, muscle injury, muscle weakness

Myositis , inflammation of the muscles. The risk of muscle injury increases when certain other medications are taken with statins. For example, if you take a combination of a statin and a fibrate -- another cholesterol-reducing drug -- the risk of muscle damage increases greatly compared to someone who takes a statin alone.
*
Elevated levels of CPK, or creatine kinase, a muscle enzyme that when elevated, can cause muscle pain, mild inflammation, and muscle weakness. This condition, though uncommon, can take a long time to resolve.
*
Rhabdomyolysis , extreme muscle inflammation and damage. With this condition, muscles all over the body become painful and weak. The severely damaged muscles release proteins into the blood that collect in the kidneys. The kidneys can become damaged trying to eliminate a large amount of muscle breakdown caused by statin use. This can ultimately lead to kidney failure or even death. Fortunately, rhabdomyolysis is extremely rare. It occurs in less than one in 10,000 people taking statins.

But the question is, as always, how do those risks compare with the risks of NOT using them? Hypetension bad enough that statins are required is very serious.

More important, you need to rework your argument. Whether a vegan is less likely to become hypertensive isn't the question. You are arguing against a drug used for treating people who ALREADY have very high blood pressure. So the evidence you need to present would be studies showing that switching to a vegan diet, or in fact any other diet, would lower high blood pressure (in a person who already has high blood pressure).

Know of any? THAT is the evidence you need to present.
