Ace In the Hole

by Yasmin Mawaz-Khan
Help to spread the word about a Kickstarter campaign film documentary on the back story of a well loved artist junkyard in SF.
"Hi Indybay,

I’m producing a project that I think might make a good news story, and I’m wondering if you’d be interested in writing about it?

I am making a documentary about Ace Junkyard and it’s proprietor Bill Kennedy. He helped countless artists and makers from the San Francisco collaborative arts community achieve their dreams. I was so struck by this place and by the man who ran it, I decided to make a movie about it. The world should know that sometimes, piles of junk can define a culture, make a huge difference and be the raw materials for art that changes the world.

p.s. If this isn’t something you think is appropriate for you to cover, I’d be grateful for any referrals to other reporters and/or bloggers covering local San Francisco documentaries, women filmmakers, collaborative art, the Maker Movement, Burning Man related art and artists, and the Power Tool Drag races. Thanks!
Ace in the Hole: Death of a Junkyard is a documentary about Bill Kennedy, the magical fairy of Ace Junkyard, who helped San Francisco's collaborative art community achieve their dreams and more.

Hey Bay Area!

We are trying to get the word out about this great documentary Ace In The Hole, and would love and appreciate your help.

Ace in the Hole: Death of a Junkyard is a documentary about Bill Kennedy, the magical fairy of Ace Junkyard, who helped San Francisco's collaborative art community achieve their dreams and more.

Ace Junkyard seems like an impossible, mythical place. I was so struck by this place and by the man who ran it, I decided to make a movie about it. The world should know that sometimes, piles of junk can define a culture, make a huge difference and be the raw materials for art that changes the world.

Please check out our Kickstarter and see if you like it. If you do, please help us get the word out. It ends in 8 days!
