The Republicans tag the Obama administration and the Democratic Party with the label  "socialist", as though it were a crime.  Leftists and progressives seem to not mind the label of socialist, so long as they're not accused of communism, which has a history of both honorable mention and also some things not writing home about. And, as one song has it, if you want to be an effective activist for social change..... then "you ain't been doing nothing/if you ain't been called a red". Let's have a talk about what these words mean for what we're trying to do to effect change.
