Fall Amah Mutsun Speaker series presents: "From Mutsun to Klingon: How Helping Bring Back One Language Gave Rise to Another" - a lecture by Dr. Marc Okrand.

Marc Okrand is an American Linguist and is most notable as the creator of the Klingon language. He graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a Bachelor's degree. His 1977 doctoral dissertation from the University of California, Berkeley, was on the grammar of the Amah Mutson Ohlone. Okrand then was hired by Paramount Pictures to develop the Klingon language which borrows its linguistic structure on the Amah Mutson.
