BART Workers Rally And March Against Union Busting And Concession Demands

Hundreds of BART ATU 1555, SEIU 1021 and AFSCME 3993 workers and supporters rallied in Oakland to protest attacks on their conditions and benefits. They are coming off a Governor Brown imposed 60 "cooling off" period and continued demand by management for concessions. Additionally a Federal Social Security AFGE worker spoke and called for support to BART workers.

The BART management and Board of Directors backed by the major corporations and billionaires in Northern California are demanding major concessions after a 3 year wage freeze. BART workers and their supporters rallied in Oakland on October 8, 2013. For more information go to

George Figueroa is the former strike coordinator who was framed up and arrested by BART managers after organizing the first strike and criticizing the BART board. He is still facing criminal charges for the frame-up and demands were made that there be no contract unless the charges are dropped.
