A political debate at the AFL-CIO 2013 convention in Los Angeles took place about the attacks on union Taft-Hartley Healthcare an Benefits plans that are being taxed under Obamacare. Delegates also blasted Obama's affordable care act and some called for a fight for single payer.
Battle Breaks Out Over Obama Care At 2013 AFL-CIO Convention
A debate broke out at the AFL-CIO 2013 convention over the affects of Obama's ACA healthcare plan as many unions protested the taxes and undercutting of their Taft-Hartley healthcare plans. The California Nurses Association/NNU opposed AFL-CIO resolution 54 and called for a fight for single payer.
Unions from LIUNA, SIU, CNA-NNU, Sheetmetal Workers, OPEIU, IBEW, USW and other unions spoke on this issue. This is a partial video of the debate.
